Lap time, sectors and theoretical lap: understand your chronos

A lap time is only useful if it explains where time hides. Sectors and the theoretical lap turn a session into a reading, not just a ranking.

Lap time

Lap time is the total between two line crossings. It tells you whether you were faster, not why. Two laps identical to a tenth can hide completely different lines.

ST1 Track records that total automatically. Then it splits it.

Sectors

A sector is a piece of the lap. It isolates a sequence, a braking zone, a straight. That is how you see whether you lose on entry, at the apex or on exit.

Without sectors, you correct at random. With sectors, you work one corner, then the next.

Theoretical lap

The theoretical lap stitches your best sectors of the session. It is not a magic time: it is a target. It shows the time you already had in your hands, without ever putting it all together on the same lap.

In ST1 Track, that reading serves progression: understand your chronos, do not just collect them. Then you compare, circuit by circuit, car by car.
